The Selection, a YA Trilogy that’s wickedly good.

After many, many posts by Shana Galen, romance writer extraordinaire,  I read The Selection. OMG, what was I thinking by not reading this book over the last 10 months! Yes, this is Young Adult Fiction–so what. From page one you’ll be entranced in the life of America Singer, The Selection finalist.

Now I’m not one to give the story away, so this will be a little tricky. Think of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz once she’s been taken by the tornado and deposited somewhere unexpected. America is Dorothy [sans Toto].  She’s homesick, unsure of her environment and yet is willing to explore the possibilities of a new life while still wanting to get back to her family and familiars.

If you’re an adult, great, read it.  If you are or have a young adult in your home who’s looking for a clean read (I always suggest the parent or responsible adult read a book before giving it over to an under-ager) that has romance and a little Ms. America thrown in, go get this book.  Luckily for us the next installment of the trilogy is already out. If like this series and want a little background on the hero there’s an e-novella, The Prince, you can purchase for download for $1.99
